Commandé par le Brass Band l'Elite de Cressier pour son 100ème anniversaire

This piece was commissioned by the Brass Band de l'Elite de Cressier on the occasion of its 100th anniversary and is one of eight pieces written to accompany the humorous tale "Le pied d'Estale" by Jacques Béalle. The play, in medieval style, influenced the inspiration for this composition. It was played between Act 1 (scene in the castle) and Act 2 (scene in the forest). In this play, the king seems somewhat stiff and awkward. This prompted to compose a march that is not a real march. This resulted in a piece in ¾ time in a kind of mazurka with a walking bass.
